Sahara Stadium

Pune warriors new IPL team will play its home ground matches on “Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium” named by ICC President Sharad Pawar.   The new IPL Pune stadium is in Gahunje village which is on Pune-Mumbai Expressway, 15 km from Pune city.   Pune IPL stadium work is in full swing, but will Pune able to host IPL season 4 matches? The total cost for this stadium is around Rs 300 Crore.

This international cricket stadium will be equipped with all modern facilities. Though the work completion deadline is in March 2011 it’s doubtful if the work will get over on time seeing our track record of CWG and Eden garden stadium construction issues.   Sahara group owner Subrata Roy Sahara announced Rs 270 Crore funding to this Pune cricket stadium. This cricket stadium will be named as “Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium”.   After development this Pune stadium will be owned and managed by Maharashtra Cricket Association. Construction company is having battle against time. Let’s see if we can watch this IPL season matches on this stadium.
